Matt Van Brink is a composer, pianist, and accordionist living in New York City. Matt is currently piano faculty and composer at Concordia Conservatory (Bronxville, NY), where a recent string of commissions has yielded several one-act musicals and chamber music pieces for student performers. He has received many commissions, residencies, and awards and is currently a composer in the BMI Musical Theater Workshops. Schott Music publishes two of Matt’s arrangements, Tenuto Press publishes his compositions for flute, and Transcontinental Music Publications included his setting of "V'Shamru" in Music for Shabbat Vol. III. He studied at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Indiana University, and Boston University, where he received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree 2005. Matt’s teachers include luminaries Samuel Adler, John Harbison, and Lukas Foss.
